Dr. Martin Bell, Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Bell is a expert in numerical weather modeling. Dr. Bell brings over 20 years of modeling and engineering leadership and experience to Metlogic. Holding a PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Canterbury, Dr. Bell has a track record of creating advanced engineering solutions to the numerical weather modeling industry. A strength of Dr. Bell’s is to quickly understand client needs and convey effective solutions in comprehensible terms.

Dr. Bell began his numerical modeling career as a research scientist with the New Zealand National Institute for Water Atmospheric Research (NIWA). He transferred to the US in 1997 to work alongside world weather modeling leaders. In the subsequent years Dr. Bell has lead teams at Mission Research Corp., Alliant Techsystems Inc. and Privacy Networks Inc.

William Thorson, Chief Operations Officer

Mr. Thorson’s is a skilled technologist with over 25 years of experience in business, engineering and weather. Mr. Thorson gives Metlogic a strong technological and management footing along with a demonstrated history in building and managing successful teams. Most recently he co-founded and served as Vice President of Engineering for Privacy Networks, a software company that provided compliant email archive solutions.

Mr. Thorson began his weather career at Colorado State University’s world renowned Tropical Meteorology Project performing research and scientific programming. He maintains strong ties to the tropical meteorology community. Mr. Thorson’s experience includes almost 20 years working on numerical weather prediction for Aster Inc., Mission Research Corp., Alliant Techsystems Inc. and Metlogic. He is also an expert in networking and high-performance parallel computation in cluster environments.
